Surprise at Barça, Héctor Fort has already said goodbye: Deco finds him a new team

The offer from the Dutch Eredivisie winner for Héctor Fort would please FC Barcelona

Deco has a whole summer ahead full of hard work. FC Barcelona's sporting director never has an easy job, and the former player has to clean up the Barça locker room.

The squad needs reinforcements, but in order to do that, they need to sell first. Hansi Flick, who has personally asked Deco for this, wants players like Ansu Fati or Iñaki Peña to leave the club this summer. They won't be the only ones.

Héctor Fort joins Ansu Fati and Iñaki Peña

Héctor Fort has joined the list of possible departures from the club this summer. He made his debut under Xavi and left a good impression, but not this year. He has played little and what he has contributed hasn't fully convinced Hansi Flick.

Everything suggests, then, that Héctor Fort will have to pack his bags to embark on a new challenge outside Can Barça. Meanwhile, as long as Jules Koundé stays in form, he'll be the undisputed owner of the right flank, leaving no room for the academy graduate.

Héctor Fort has no shortage of offers

The young right-back has caught the attention of clubs all over Europe. In Spain, specifically, Valencia had inquired about his situation. However, it seems that Héctor Fort's future lies in the Netherlands.

PSV Eindhoven appears to be in the best position to secure the Catalan's services. From Barça's offices, it's said they would accept the Dutch club's offer. This way, Héctor Fort could accumulate minutes, feel important, and focus on continuing to progress.

Eindhoven are short on right-backs

Sergiño Dest, PSV's starter, has spent most of the season recovering from a torn cruciate ligament. The Dutchman was transferred by Barça last summer and has barely had opportunities to play. Richard Ledezma has filled in for him, but he hasn't renewed his contract after receiving an offer from Chivas in Mexico.

Given this scenario, Héctor Fort's transfer to PSV makes a lot of sense. At Barça, he won't get many minutes, while in the Netherlands he could be a regular starter. However, Barça will only allow his departure on loan, since Deco believes he still has a lot to offer.

Barça are already working on Héctor Fort's loan

Hansi Flick's Barça is characterized by the breakthrough young players have had under the German. It's precisely the coach who knows that if Héctor Fort leaves, it'd be better if he does so on loan.

However, if PSV only accepts a purchase, Deco could keep a percentage of his future sale. Also, in case he leaves permanently, Barça will also keep a buy-back option. It's clear that despite his current role Héctor Fort is destined to be important for Barça.
