Buckingham Palace confirms Charles III and Camilla won't do it: a very hard blow

A special date once again highlights the coldness and distance between the members of the royal family

The calendar marked this week as a key day for the British monarchy and its recent history. May 6 is a special day for Charles III, as it recalls one of his most important moments as king: the coronation. However, this day also brought with it a clear contrast between the institutional and the familial.

Charles III and Camilla, the current sovereigns, kept their public commitments with the serenity that characterizes them. The atmosphere was solemn and filled with symbolism and tradition with the royal family gathered. Although not all family members were part of the same scene.

A celebration marked by absences

Meghan Markle on her social media, from California, shared an image of Archie along with an emotional message. "Our son, our sun. Happy sixth birthday to Archie!" she wrote. She also thanked those who joined the little one's celebration.

The image shows Archie from behind, facing the sea and the sunset, in an intimate and serene scene. However, the message was neither replicated nor commented on by the official royal family account. There were also no public mentions from King Charles or Queen Camilla.

Days earlier, Princess Charlotte's tenth birthday was indeed recognized by the Crown with an official post. The contrast has been noticeable for those who follow every move of the Windsors. Comparisons were quick to arise, generating speculations and comments.

A distance that deepens

Harry, a few days ago, spoke about his father in a recent interview with the BBC. "It hurts me not to be able to talk to him at this moment," he confessed about his relationship with the king. "He is still my father and I care about him," he added, showing his concern for Charles III's health.

The lack of response from Buckingham has been interpreted more as a resounding silence, as no one from the royal family attended Archie's birthday party. This absence once again highlights the rift between the Sussexes and the rest of the family. What should have been a day of family celebration ended up further evidencing the distances.
