Jorge Javier Vázquez has left more than one person speechless with the statement he has issued about the latest edition of Supervivientes. What no one expected was that the host would set aside his impartiality to publicly support one of the contestants.
Due to his role as master of ceremonies over the years, the one from Badalona has avoided taking sides for or against a participant by all means. Although, on some occasions, he has hinted at his opinions or preferences.
However, this time, Jorge Javier Vázquez didn't think twice about revealing the name of his favorite contestant from Supervivientes. He did so through his blog on Lecturas.
The host of this famous reality show wanted to take the opportunity to dedicate some heartfelt words to his friend and colleague, Carmen Alcayde.
As we all know, Jorge Javier Vázquez and the survivor share a long history on television since their time on Aquí hay tomate. A show in which, according to him, they experienced "five intense, excessive years. Overwhelming, with very high peaks of happiness and also unhappiness."
So much so that, as he revealed, "there were times when we couldn't stand each other." "The director had to perform real miracles because there were times when we disliked each other so much that we didn't look each other in the face," the host added.

However, over the years, Jorge Javier Vázquez and Carmen Alcayde have managed to set aside their differences. So much so that, currently, their relationship is based on mutual affection and admiration:
"The important thing is not how things start, but how they end: almost twenty years later, Carmen and I still have a lot of affection for each other. I believe that, professionally, she is at her best."
For that reason, Jorge Javier Vázquez has taken advantage of the latest entry in his blog to defend Carmen from all the criticism she has been receiving in recent weeks. "I see her enjoying herself like a child... Playing, getting wet, taking risks, which is how you have to go to a reality show," the host assured.
Meanwhile, the communicator has stated that he is not at all "in agreement" with all those viewers who claim that Carmen Alcayde is overacting:
"I don't agree. I can attest that she is dynamite in her veins, and if she finds herself in a situation as extreme as the one in Honduras, the result is what we are seeing: a woman in a perpetual state of mascletà."
Moreover, as if that weren't enough, Jorge Javier Vázquez hasn't hesitated to set aside his impartiality to share his wish for Carmen to reach the final:
"She is a real gift for a television show. I'm very happy to see her working hard on her presence in a successful show. There's still a long way to go, but if she continues down this path, Carmen Alcayde deserves to arrive in Madrid by helicopter as a finalist."
