In recent months, there has been much talk about the available aids to make life a bit easier for many. In this regard, this very Monday, the period to apply for one of them has opened. It is the Young Rental Voucher, which in Catalonia can be requested from this very May 19.
The Generalitat of Catalonia has opened the call to apply for this aid, aimed at young people. It is funded with state funds but will be managed by the Catalonia Housing Agency. Applications can be submitted from today, Monday the 19th, to Friday, May 23, and the monthly subsidy is 250 euros for two years.

Requirements to access the young rental voucher
To apply for this aid, it is necessary to legally reside in Catalonia. Additionally, the rented or ceded dwelling must be the habitual and permanent residence during the duration of the subsidy. Another important requirement is that the income of the entire cohabitation unit doesn't exceed 25,200 euros annually.
The applicant must be under 35 years old at the time of submitting the application. It is also essential to have a regular source of income. The person must be the holder of the lease contract or be in a position to sign it within a maximum period of two months, according to ARA.
The monthly rent can't exceed the limits set in the call resolution. There can also be no people in the cohabitation unit who are owners or usufructuaries of any dwelling. Additionally, there should be no close family relationships between landlords and tenants.

How and where to submit the application and upcoming aids
Applications for this aid can be made electronically through the official Tràmits website. They can also be submitted at local housing offices that collaborate with the Catalonia Housing Agency. Another option is to go to the Agency's own offices or to the mediation pools for social rent.
It is important to note that the call will be open for only five days, and the aids will be granted until the available budget is exhausted. This means it is advisable to submit the application as soon as possible. The total budget allocated to this call is 37,783,500 euros, and requests will be solved in order of arrival.

Additionally, the Generalitat plans to soon launch a new aid for young people who rent. This subsidy will have its own funds from the Generalitat and will serve to complement the state voucher. The maximum amount will also be 250 euros per month, but it will be adjusted according to the income and economic effort of each family unit.
These initiatives aim to support young people who have difficulties paying rent. Thus, it is intended to facilitate that they can keep a stable home. The measures respond to the need to improve access to housing among the youngest.
