Carlota Casiraghi has never fit the image of a "fairy tale" princess. She is passionate about literature and holds a degree in Philosophy from the Sorbonne University. Her elegance and beauty, inherited from her grandmother Grace Kelly and her mother, Carolina of Monaco, have made her an admired figure around the world. However, her life was marked by tragedy very early on.
At four years old, she lost her father, Stefano Casiraghi, in a boating accident. "At a time when memory isn't yet formed, it's a great challenge that shouldn't be trivialized," she said years after his passing to Les Inrockuptibles magazine.

Since then, literature became her refuge and equestrianism her other great passion. She not only created the Rendez-vous littéraires rue Cambon with Chanel, but also published her first book, Archipelago of Passions, with her professor Robert Maggiori. In equestrian sports, she has participated in some of the most important competitions.
Carlota Casiraghi and Carolina of Monaco are having a very similar fate
On August 3, Carlota Casiraghi turned 39 years old. On the verge of a new decade and, like her mother, she seems unable to escape the well-known curse.
According to legend, a lover of Raniero I cast upon the Grimaldi family: "No Grimaldi will be happy in their marriage unless they marry after the age of 50." A prophecy that, curiously, would only affect women.

Carolina has married three times: first to Philippe Junot, from whom she divorced after two years. Then she married Stefano Casiraghi and, later, Ernst von Hannover, from whom she also separated.
Meanwhile, her sister, Princess Estefanía, hasn't found emotional stability either. She has accumulated fleeting loves and broken marriages, from bodyguard Daniel Ducruet to tightrope walker Adans L. Peres.
Carlota Casiraghi, daughter of Princess Carolina of Monaco, has also experienced failures in her relationships
Carlota has also had high-profile relationships. With comedian Gad Elmaleh, she had her first son, Raphaël. In 2019, she married producer Dimitri Rassam, with whom she had Balthazar. However, after four years of marriage, they separated. In February 2024, rumors emerged of a romance with writer Nicolas Mathieu, although there was no official confirmation.

Meanwhile, her brothers seem unaffected by the prophecy. Pierre is celebrating ten years of marriage with Beatrice Borromeo, and they're expecting their third child. Andrea has been married to Tatiana Santo Domingo for eleven years, with three children and a discreet life in Switzerland.
Only time will tell if Carlota manages to break the spell. For now, Monaco knows: neither her intelligence nor her beauty have been able to stop the "curse" that haunts the women of the Grimaldi family.
