Sofía's future has become clear and Casa Real has confirmed that the youngest daughter of the monarchs, Infanta Sofía, will leave Spain soon. The reason is important: her university studies. Sofía has chosen to study political science and international relations.
She will do so at the prestigious Forward College. This is an international institution that was founded in 2021 by high-ranking French officials.

During the next three years, the Infanta will live in three European capitals: Lisbon, Paris, and Berlin will host Princess Leonor's sister.
Infanta Sofía will leave Spain to continue her studies
Sofía has made this decision after her experience at Atlantic College in Wales. She graduated there on May 24. In that multicultural environment, she probably developed the desire to continue her education outside Spain.
Casa Real has explained that Sofía has felt "attracted" by the spirit of exploring new things. Education abroad has been a personal choice, although supported by her parents.

The monarchs will pay the tuition cost, which amounts to at least €18,500 ($18,500) per year. Classes are taught in English, but electives are also offered in Portuguese, French, and German.
The Infanta will begin the academic year this September and will share the campus with young people from up to 40 nationalities. Even so, classes are small groups; in 2021, only one out of every eleven applications was accepted. The academic demand is high and the international focus is clear.
Sofía will leave Spain to study the same as her father's sister
It has not yet been decided where Sofía will live during her studies. Casa Real has discussed this issue in detail. Sources close to the family have indicated that they are seeking a "balance" between the Infanta's security and her integration into university life.

The choice of studies also carries symbolic weight. Infanta Sofía has followed in the footsteps of her aunt, Infanta Cristina, who also studied political science. In addition, it recalls the path of her father, King Felipe VI, who studied law at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and later completed a master's degree in international relations at Georgetown, Washington.
Thus, Casa Real has made the decision public. Infanta Sofía is leaving Spain for an important reason: she wants to train in the political and international field. The goal is clear: to prepare for the world with a broad, modern, and global vision.
