About to celebrate their fifteenth wedding anniversary next December, Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth have become one of the most stable and admired couples. United by love and a discreet yet fulfilling family life, the couple made a decisive decision a decade ago: to leave the United States and move to Australia, the actor's home country. Since 2015, they have put down roots in the paradisiacal Byron Bay, a natural haven where they have built not only their home but also a lifestyle far from Hollywood.
There, on an estate of more than 5 acres (2 hectares), the couple built a spectacular mansion that reflects their love for nature, open spaces, and animals.

A top-level retreat where they raise their three children and enjoy the tranquility that only the Australian environment can offer. However, in a recent revelation reported by the Australian newspaper The Daily Telegraph, Elsa Pataky has shared that, at first, her plans did not include moving to the Antipodes.
Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth moved to Australia for their children's well-being
According to the Spanish actress, her initial idea was to settle at a midpoint between Spain and Australia, seeking a geographical balance between her roots and those of her husband. However, everything changed when she saw the stunning landscape where her children would grow up.

"When I saw where my children could be raised, I knew that was the place," she stated. Since then, Australia has become their family base, although trips to Spain are frequent and always warmly welcomed.

In recent statements reported by the Cantabrian newspaper Alerta, Pataky has indicated that the future could bring changes. "I think as my children become more grown up, they'll love being in a city, after having lived in a much smaller one," she confessed. She also added in her words to News Corporation that living in Madrid becomes complicated after having experienced life in the heart of nature.

What Elsa has made clear is that the rumors were true: Chris Hemsworth and their children are completely happy living in Australia. Pataky has admitted on more than one occasion that her family has found there the perfect balance between tranquility and well-being.
However, she doesn't rule out that we may soon see them again in Spain, a country she always carries in her heart and whose cuisine, customs, and culture she continues to enjoy whenever she can.
