Her next stop will be to board Elcano again to make the final voyage to Marín, the final destination of her naval training. The Royal Family has confirmed that Princess Leonor has successfully completed her training in the Navy. During this time aboard Elcano and the frigate Blas de Lezo, the heiress to the throne has shown dedication, commitment, discipline, and devotion. In recognition of all this, on July 14 she will be awarded the Gold Medal of Galicia.

This award represents the highest regional distinction granted by Xunta. The ceremony will take place in Santiago de Compostela and aims to honor the bond Leonor has forged with Galicia during her naval training. For institutional reasons, the medal will be presented to Leonor ahead of the collective ceremony scheduled for July 24.

This will not be the only event Princess Leonor must attend in recognition of these six months on Elcano. After receiving the official award, she will be named Favorite Daughter of Marín on July 16 during the commissioning ceremony at the Naval Military School.
