Royal House can now confirm it: Princess Leonor has done it and there will soon be photos

The Royal Household is ready to announce happy breaking news related to Princess Leonor and her future

Casa Real can now confirm breaking news related to Princess Leonor and her most immediate future. After her successful naval training, a new stage is opening up for the heiress, which will begin in September with new challenges.

Every new stage begins with a decisive step, which, in Leonor's case, the successor has already taken. Soon, Casa Real will share the photos that will spotlight the new life of the monarchs' eldest daughter.

Casa Real celebrates Princess Leonor's new achievement

Casa Real is still trying to get used to Princess Leonor's arrival in Spain after her time with the Navy. For six months, she has been on board Elcano, thus completing her second military stage. While they are still celebrating, breaking news once again places Leonor's future away from the Palace.

Casa Real can now confirm that Princess Leonor has been named an officer cadet and, therefore, a cadet of the Air and Space Force. Royal Decree 673/2025, published in the BOE, formalizes her incorporation into the General Air and Space Academy. She will therefore enter San Javier as part of the LXXVIII essential Flight Specialty Class.

The appointment comes after she completed her naval course in Marín, where she received the Grand Cross of Naval Merit on July 16, 2025. The monarchs, Infanta Sofía, and Casa Real supported the heiress at the farewell ceremony at the Naval Military School. With that maritime milestone, it's time to look to the Murcian sky.

Princess Leonor's military itinerary is structured in three courses: Army, Navy, and Air, a specific design for the heiress. The regulation aims for her to get to know the three branches and the military values she will have to embody as future supreme commander. It also highlights the advancement of women in increasingly open Armed Forces.

The new royal decree of appointment is linked to that plan: she is integrated into the fourth year as an officer cadet of the General Corps. Her position is temporary and responds to her institutional status; the heiress's appointments are always made by royal decree. The essential specialty will be Flight, which is key to understanding modern air and space operations.

Casa Real confirms the start of Princess Leonor's new stage

Princess Leonor's incorporation into her next military assignment is scheduled for early September. Casa Real points to the 1st of that same month as her arrival date at the AGA (General Air Academy).

After a summer of transition from the sea, Princess Leonor will face her final military year in San Javier, Murcia. The AGA will receive her with honors, as the center is already preparing according to regional sources. Casa Real hopes to share the photos that will capture this moment of great significance for the institution.

During the first semester, Princess Leonor will take General Military Training, Command Techniques, Service Training, Logistics, Psychology, and Military Physical Education. The second semester will have a more pronounced technical and operational profile.

The most desired phase will also arrive: flight familiarization and practice. The heiress will fly in the Pilatus PC-21 turboprop trainer, a new-generation platform adopted for advanced instruction. The leap to the cockpit will mark continuity with her father and grandfather, who were also trained in San Javier, thus continuing the family tradition.

From now on, all eyes are on September: we will see Princess Leonor don the blue uniform, start classes, and soon get into the simulator. This is an event of great significance for Casa Real, which ensures the continuity of the Crown.
