Princess Leonor and her sister Sofía have become the center of attention. All this comes after it was revealed which city in Spain they chose to meet in secret.
Undoubtedly, this Thursday, July 3, has been a very significant day for the Princess of Asturias. After almost a month away from her fellow crew members of the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano, the firstborn of Felipe VI and Doña Letizia has reunited with them in Gijón.

A visit that, as expected, has also been a source of great joy for the city and its residents. The arrival of this iconic vessel has caused great excitement, largely due to Princess Leonor's presence.
However, what has drawn the most attention at this moment has been the unexpected decision made by Infanta Sofía. According to El Comercio, the young woman went to that city in secret to reunite with her sister.
Princess Leonor and her sister Sofía reunite in Gijón after months apart
As expected, the presence of Infanta Sofía has been surrounded by great discretion. However, as has been confirmed, both have participated in an official reception for authorities and other dignitaries held on the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano.
Princess Leonor and her sister have always shown great closeness, something that has now been reflected during this important event. Another moment that proved the affection they have for each other took place a few days ago.

During her journey with the rest of the sailors, the future queen of Spain sent a loving message to Infanta Sofía for her high school graduation. Even though she couldn't attend this important moment for her sister, she wanted to be present in some way.
In the video she recorded for the occasion, Princess Leonor told her sister how proud she was of her and how much she was looking forward to their reunion. This gesture moved both the family and those present at the ceremony.

But after weeks of waiting, the desired reunion of the sisters has finally arrived. It was this Thursday when the Princess arrived on the training ship at El Musel.
Infanta Sofía, like any other family member, wanted to visit her. At that moment, both shared a touching moment, far from the protocol they are used to.
For now, Casa Real hasn't confirmed the news yet. However, according to the aforementioned media outlet, both appeared very smiling and happy during the official reception.
At that event, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía greeted the authorities and dignitaries present. In addition, they exchanged a few words with the mayor of Gijón, Carmen Moriyón.
