British citizens have been truly surprised to learn one of the best-kept secrets of Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth II. This information is directly related to the bond that existed between the monarch and the brother of the Princess of Wales.
Over these years, there have been only a few occasions when people have publicly spoken about the intimate and spontaneous gestures that defined the most human side of Queen Elizabeth.

However, it is now James Middleton, Kate Middleton's younger brother, who has shared an emotional anecdote he experienced with the monarch. He did so during one of his latest interviews.
In a conversation with OK Magazine!, on the occasion of the paperback release of his book Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life, James shared several personal memories. Among them, he highlighted a special occasion when Queen Elizabeth II comforted him after he experienced an awkward moment.
Kate Middleton's brother surprises everyone with the latest anecdote he has revealed about Queen Elizabeth II
During his interview, the brother of Kate Middleton said that he was invited to spend a few days at the Sandringham residence, where Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip welcomed him.
Everything seemed to indicate that it would be a calm and cordial stay, but an unexpected event occurred involving his dog Ella. What began as a formal visit ended up being an unforgettable experience due to a canine mischief.

As James Middleton recounted, Ella, a cocker spaniel, was allowed to sleep in his room, a rare privilege in the royal household. However, the dog escaped during the night, wandering through the kitchen and the bathroom of another area, causing some chaos in the residence.
As expected, Kate Middleton's brother thought he was going to be reprimanded by the Queen for the commotion caused. However, nothing could be further from the truth.

To his surprise, Elizabeth II, known for her unconditional love for corgis, reacted with an understanding smile. "Well, dogs are dogs," the monarch told him at that moment.
There is no doubt that these simple words left a deep impression on James, who interpreted them as a sign of the silent empathy that characterized the sovereign.
Ella was not only a loyal companion for James, but also the mother of Lupo, the dog of Prince William and Kate Middleton. This connection between both families, also united by their love for animals, strengthens the emotional and shared bonds between the Middletons and the Windsors.
That's why Ella's death, in January 2023, left a deep mark on James. It was one of the reasons that led him to write his book, where he remembers his dog and the healing power of animals in the darkest moments of life.
