The transformation of Huis ten Bosch Palace has not been an easy task. Originally built in a Dutch Renaissance style, the palace has undergone an exhaustive renovation process under the supervision of its new tenants.

However, as often happens with large-scale renovations, the work has extended longer than planned. A fact that has considerably increased the final cost of the project, reaching 63 million euros, double the initial budget.

Additionally, it features more than 150 rooms, some of which have been designed to keep the perfect balance between historical top-level and modernity. Among the most emblematic spaces are the Chinese Room, the Japanese Room, and the Orange Room.

The decoration by the royals is one of the most outstanding aspects of the renovation. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands wanted each room to reflect a unique atmosphere, creating a cozy yet elegant environment that respects the history of the place.

Queen Máxima of the Netherlands has opted for softer tones, such as blue and cream, which blend with nature-inspired wallpapers. This fresh touch is complemented by antique furniture and monarchical style details.

Now, after years of waiting, Huis ten Bosch Palace has become the definitive home of the Dutch royal family. A place that allows them to combine their official duties with family life.
