Gerard Martín has been one of the most eye-catching footballers; especially because he is the newcomer. The young player arrived at Barça not long ago and everything has gone smoothly for him since he joined the team. In fact, he has spent very little time in the lower divisions and is now playing a prominent role in the first team.
Barça has gone through rough patches, but the reality is that it is currently showing the best possible football. In fact, Flick has managed to get all the fans excited again about the project. Curiously, Laporta is preparing a move that would leave Gerard Martín out of the game.

Laporta's dealings
Laporta has received a considerable amount of criticism on several occasions, but his work is really good. Although he has given dates that have not been accurate, he is doing everything possible to fix the problems. The Culers were going through a severe economic crisis, but the president is achieving the impossible.
Barça is starting to get back on its feet and Laporta is the person who has made it happen. The fans are starting to become very fond of him, thus gaining allies for the upcoming elections. Besides being well-liked, the Culer must secure a major signing for the next summer transfer window.
Barça's squad has increased its level, but injuries are very present among the young stars. An example of this is Alejandro Balde, the starting left-back par excellence of the German coach. Although Gerard Martín is replacing Balde (more or less well), Laporta is preparing a major signing.
Laporta's signing
Laporta is in talks with Alejandro Grimaldo, recent European Championship winner with Spain and a Barça youth academy product. According to Sky Sports, Grimaldo would have a total value of between 30 and 40 million, so the club would have to make an effort. In fact, it is possible that there would need to be some departures first for the full-back to sign.

If Alejandro Grimaldo joins Barça, Alejandro Balde will have competition for the starting position, but Gerard Martín will be left out. Gerard, despite having talent, hasn't matured enough to compete with the other two stars. Over the next few months, we will know if Laporta ventures into the transfer market or if he prefers to let it be.
