Denmark's royal house releases a statement from King Frederik that no one expected

The head of communications for the Royal House of Denmark reveals the latest decision King Frederik has made

The Danish Royal House has left more than one person speechless with the latest statement they've issued about King Frederik. In it, his communications team has revealed what the monarch's communications strategy will be from now on.

There's no doubt that the relationship between Frederik of Denmark and the local press has become notably strained in recent days. All of this is due to the decision the monarch has made, which, apparently, hasn't been well received by the country's media or by various experts.

Since his ascension to the throne, after Queen Margrethe II's abdication, King Frederik has tried to keep away from scandals. However, it seems that his efforts haven't borne fruit, as he remains embroiled in controversies that place him under public scrutiny.

That's why, in this climate of growing tension, the Danish Royal House has been forced to intervene publicly. They've done so through their communications director, who, for the first time since her appointment, has spoken to provide explanations.

Nina Munch-Perrin, King Frederik's right-hand woman in everything related to communications strategy, broke her silence a few days ago on the program Presselogen.

During her appearance on this TV2 show, the monarch's head of communications issued an important statement. In it, she reported on the "new reality that citizens and, above all, the media must get used to."

The reason for this unexpected television appearance is directly related to the controversy caused by the publication of the official photographs and video of Crown Prince Christian.

This content, released a few days ago, accompanied the news that the young man will continue his training in the Armed Forces. The publication was interpreted as a break with the monarchy's traditional methods.

Meanwhile, the Danish outlet Ekstra Bladet reported that this material sparked strong criticism from experts such as Thomas Larsen, one of the country's most influential analysts.

According to Larsen and other press representatives, the Danish Royal House has limited editorial freedom regarding the content that's distributed. They also claim that "full editing rights" aren't granted and that the media aren't allowed to participate in a "public conversation."

The media pressure has been such that King Frederik's right-hand woman has had to explain through a statement that the Royal House is undergoing a deep change:

"We have a new royal couple and things will be done differently. I think that may be a difficult attitude for some of the established media to digest because things are going to take a different direction.[...]Clearly, the kings want to communicate in a different way than they have until now."
