Vodafone's terrible blow to millions of Spaniards: You'll notice it starting today

Vodafone has bad news for many users, who will see the price of some TV packages increase

Vodafone has recently made a decision that will directly affect the wallets of many of its users in Spain. It involves a series of significant changes in its television service. They come accompanied by price increases and a rise in penalties for breaking the contract commitment.

If you are a Vodafone TV customer and are thinking about canceling early, you might want to think twice. The company has updated its legal terms. Now the penalty for breaking the commitment increases by three euros.

Until recently, the maximum to pay was 63 euros. But now it can reach 66 euros, depending on the remaining contract time.

This change affects those who contract the television service along with any of the mobile, fiber optic, or combination tariffs. Vodafone offers quite a bit of flexibility for customers to design their own television packages. However, the competition in this market is increasingly greater and stronger.

price increase in vodafone packages with streaming platforms

But that's not all. Vodafone has also announced an increase in the price of several of its television packages that include subscriptions to platforms. This is the case for Disney+, Max, and Amazon Prime Video.

This change took effect in May and affects new customers exclusively. Current users will not see their rates altered.

Among the television packages that increase in price are Seriefans, which goes from 10 to 11 euros per month, and Serielovers, from 14 to 15 euros monthly. The same happens with Familyfans, from 10 to 11 euros per month; and Familylovers, from 14 to 15 euros monthly. Meanwhile, Vodafone TV with 80 channels and subscription to Disney+, Max, and Prime, increases from 21 to 22 euros.

These packages are designed for those seeking a varied catalog of series, movies, and family content. But now they will have to pay more for it if they were not customers before May.

Not all Vodafone television rates are affected by this increase. Prices remain stable in the Adult, Hunting, Sports, Documentaries, Filmin, and Music packages.

a bad news for new customers

This change in rates is a clear warning for those considering contracting Vodafone TV. If you want to access the main streaming platforms through their service, you will have to pay more money each month. And if you also decide to cancel your contract before the agreed time, the penalty will also be higher.

The operator has made a significant shift in its pricing policy. While current customers can be at ease, new users will need to carefully consider whether it is worth paying more for a service that has more and more competitors in the market.
