Infanta Cristina returns home urgently: her brother, King Felipe, remains silent

Infanta Cristina returned to Spain last month to attend an important and much-anticipated event in Badajoz

The Extremaduran region of Vegas Altas del Guadiana was the chosen setting for one of the most prominent weddings of the year. This celebration required Infanta Cristina to travel to our country in the middle of summer.

Bosco López-Madrid Villar Mir and Victoria Ferrer Fernández exchanged their "I do's" surrounded by more than 300 guests. Family members, aristocrats, politicians, and businesspeople attended an elegant and carefully organized event.

The Los Castillejos estate, located in Guareña (Badajoz) and owned by the bride's family, hosted the ceremony and the subsequent celebration. The venue was decorated with floral arrangements, pergolas, and lamps on each table, creating a magical atmosphere. The party lasted until dawn with top-tier music and cuisine.

A wedding full of exclusive details

The banquet was provided by Alda & Terry catering, a Seville-based company specializing in high-end events. The menu included oysters, gazpacho, and Iberian ham, followed by desserts such as pavlova with berries. The company was also chosen for Ana Cristina Portillo's wedding, the youngest of Bertín Osborne's daughters.

The bride dazzled in a Jorge Vázquez dress, featuring floral embroidery on a white background, a high neckline, and a tulle veil. She completed the look with vintage pearl earrings and an unstructured bouquet. The designer expressed his gratitude for her trust with a post on Instagram where he celebrated her elegant style.

Among the attendees were María Dolores de Cospedal, Fernando Portillo, and Infanta Cristina, along with other prominent figures from the political and business spheres. The guest list confirmed the exclusive nature of an event that brought together tradition and modernity in a privileged setting.

Infanta Cristina, an exceptional witness

Infanta Cristina became one of the day's protagonists, attending as a guest and signing as a witness for the groom. Dressed in shades of purple and with her hair up, she appeared approachable, conversing with Javier López-Madrid, the groom's father, during the religious ceremony.

The relationship between the two families is longstanding: Javier was a classmate of then-Prince Felipe at Santa María de los Rosales school. That friendship has endured and explains Infanta's prominent presence at such a significant event. Her attendance strengthened her bond with influential families in Spain.

Cristina, although she currently lives in Geneva, keeps in touch with her closest circle in Spain. Events like this place her once again at the center of social life, though away from the institutional spotlight. Her role in this wedding is proof that she remains very present in the most private circles of royalty.

The wedding that marked her return to Spain

This type of family and social commitment was among the reasons that brought Infanta Cristina back to Spain very soon. Although she has lived in Switzerland for years, she hasn't stopped participating in important events for people close to her circle.

Sources close to her indicated that this wasn't the only visit in recent months. Her participation as a witness in such a symbolic wedding made it clear that her presence was still required. Infanta returned when her personal schedule or her loyalty deemed it necessary.

The union between Bosco López-Madrid and Victoria Ferrer not only brought together prominent figures, but also prompted another trip by Cristina to Spain. This wedding, beyond the romance, reactivated the king's sister's presence in national public life.
