According to reports, during an altercation in November with Marius's ex-girlfriend, the princess allegedly intervened. "She notified Marius Borg that the police were going to arrest him and cleaned her son's house," sources close to the case state.
The police contacted Marius shortly before arresting him, and during that time the princess is said to have helped remove evidence from the residence. Later, she herself took him to the school where the police were waiting for him.
New problems for Mette-Marit
Regarding the involvement of family members in the investigation, Norway's Attorney General, Sturla Henriksbø, was very clear. "To the extent that there are messages between private individuals and family members of the accused related to the case, they will have been included in the investigation material."
This confirms that the investigation includes all communications that may provide relevant information, excluding no one. So far, the only member of the royal family who has spoken publicly about the charges has been Prince Haakon.
At an official event in Trondheim he stated: "It has already been clarified what the charge will be. Now it is up to the court to decide. Meanwhile, we will continue to fulfill our duties."
He added that "everyone involved in the case has found it challenging and difficult. As for the matter, there are others who are in a better position to speak about it," the future monarch concluded.
