No one will forget what happened with Princess Leonor inside Elcano: it's very important

After some time away from Elcano, Princess Leonor returned this morning along with the rest of her classmates

Princess Leonor once again becomes the center of attention after what happened on the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano in the last few hours. After a month away from all her classmates, the future queen of our country has just reunited with them in the Asturian town of Gijón.

Without a doubt, this Thursday, July 3, is a very significant day. This is because the firstborn of Felipe VI and Doña Letizia is once again setting foot in Spain during her second year of military training.

Almost a month ago, Princess Leonor left the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano after five intense months of sailing. She did so during a stop that the vessel made in New York, where she took a flight back to Spain.

Since then, she has continued her military training on national territory aboard the frigate Blas de Lezo in the Canary Islands. Today, however, she has returned aboard Elcano, reuniting with her fellow travelers. This was a highly desired reunion that took place at the port of Gijón, a city with a special connection for the royal family, as Asturias is Doña Letizia's birthplace.

This morning, Gijón became the perfect setting for the reunion of two Spanish Navy ships. These are none other than the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano and the frigate Blas de Lezo.

Princess Leonor has once again boarded the iconic Elcano to participate in the last ten days (10 days) of sailing. In addition, she will once again share unique moments with the midshipmen with whom she has lived unforgettable experiences on the other side of the Atlantic.

This final stage is expected to help her further strengthen the bonds created during these months. During these days, both the future queen and the rest of her classmates will make the most of their last lessons.

Besides consolidating knowledge, Princess Leonor will have the opportunity to strengthen personal ties that, as in King Felipe's case, can last a lifetime.

The princess's return to Elcano also marks the end of her brief stay on the frigate Blas de Lezo. Casa Real recently shared images in which the heiress could be seen involved in various tasks on board.

However, it has become known that during her time on the frigate she suffered a minor physical setback. According to Monarquía Confidencial, she had to change her footwear due to discomfort in her feet, such as blisters or sprains. Despite this, Leonor has continued with her schedule without major complications.

Now, the princess has ten days (10 days) ahead aboard Elcano until this stage ends. On July 13, the journey will come to an end and, the following day, she will experience another very special and symbolic moment.

On July 14, she will receive the Gold Medal of Galicia, in recognition of her stay in that community during her training. This is an important distinction awarded by Xunta, which highlights the value of her time in Galician lands.

Shortly after, on July 23, Princess Leonor will resume her official commitments alongside the king and queen and her sister Sofía. On that day, she will be present at the 2025 Princess of Girona Awards, reaffirming her institutional role.
