After his latest sports clash, Carlos Alcaraz didn't think twice about sending a clear message to one of his biggest rivals, Novak Djokovic. "It's not what it seems," the Spanish tennis player stated.
Despite their constant and well-known rivalry, as of today, these two great tennis figures maintain a relationship based on respect, cordiality, and mutual admiration. However, their desire to become the best tennis player in the world means their bond isn't very close.

Nevertheless, on more than one occasion, Carlos Alcaraz has stated that Novak Djokovic is a "reference" and a "role model" for him, due to his professionalism and winning mentality.
Meanwhile, the Serbian has even praised his opponent, highlighting the maturity, talent, and charisma he has despite his age. In addition, he hasn't hesitated to state that he is a "complete player."
Now, after triumphing again at Wimbledon 2025, the prestigious Grand Slam played on grass at the All England Club in London, Carlos Alcaraz has broken his silence. He has done so to send a clear message to Novak Djokovic.

Last Tuesday, Carlos Alcaraz dominated on the courts against the last hope of British tennis, Cameron Norrie, qualifying for the Wimbledon semifinals for the third consecutive year.
After his singles victory, the two-time tournament champion will face, on July 11, the American Taylor Fritz, who currently holds the title of world number three.

This Wednesday, July 9, Carlos Alcaraz was seen on the training courts at Aorangi Park. His intention is not to train on Thursday, as he will dedicate the day to rest and disconnecting.
So much so that, among his plans, is staying at the house he rented in Wimbledon to watch the tournament's quarterfinals on television. Matches that will feature Novak Djokovic and Flavio Cobolli, and Jannik Sinner against Ben Shelton.

"I'm a tennis lover, and as such I like to watch this kind of matches," Carlos Alcaraz told the media. He also made it clear that behind his gesture there is a strategic focus: "There are some interesting quarterfinals, I like to watch the matches to pick up tactics for the future."
At this moment, despite their cordial relationship, the Spaniard hasn't hesitated to comment on Novak Djokovic's situation in this historic tennis tournament.
"I haven't seen much of Djokovic and Sinner so far in the tournament. I have heard what's been said, that Djokovic has played very well in the first two or three matches. That Sinner was doing unbelievable until what happened with Dimitrov," the Murcian analyzed.
In addition, Carlos Alcaraz has also warned about the dangers of underestimating Flavio Cobolli: "It's not what it seems. These are quarterfinals that are more complicated than they might appear."
"I was training with Flavio at the beginning of the week, and the level he has is amazing. It'll be interesting to see his duel with Djokovic," he added.
