After spending some time in a discreet second place, Iñaki Urdangarin has once again become the center of attention. All this comes after several media outlets have exposed the sad reality that Pablo Urdangarin's father is experiencing.
It was last June 8 when the former Duke of Palma made a public reappearance after granting an unexpected interview to La Vanguardia. In the interview, he spoke, among other things, about his new life in Vitoria with Ainhoa Armentia and about his new project: a coaching brand aimed at companies.

However, everything suggests that Iñaki Urdangarin's reappearance has caused great controversy within the Royal Family of our country. All this for breaking one of the most delicate clauses of his divorce from Infanta Cristina.
As became known several months ago, the agreement between Pablo Urdangarin's parents was clear. The former handball player would receive a substantial financial compensation in exchange for keeping silent and staying away from the media spotlight.
At first, Iñaki Urdangarin's intention was to lead a discreet life, far from interviews and headlines. But with his latest public appearance, he has broken his supposed confidentiality agreement.
Several people have exposed the whole truth about Iñaki Urdangarin
According to several media outlets, although he has claimed that he lives on the €900 ($970) benefit for having been in prison, Iñaki Urdangarin's lifestyle proves the opposite. In fact, with that amount, it would be impossible to cover the expenses he currently keeps.

Juan Luis Galiacho was the first who dared to reveal that Pablo Urdangarin's father had rejected writing a book for which he was offered two million euros ($2.16 million). However, instead of signing that publishing contract, he chose to accept a much more generous offer from Juan Carlos I.
Some claim that Iñaki Urdangarin and the emeritus king meet frequently in Vitoria or Switzerland. In addition, the monarch would also pay him €25,000 ($27,000) per month as a lifelong allowance.

Nevertheless, now the former Duke of Palma has reportedly asked to double that monthly allowance, requesting up to €50,000 ($54,000), in exchange for not spilling the beans. In fact, Pablo Urdangarin's father could reveal the whole truth about such sensitive matters as the Nóos Case.
According to Pilar Eyre, his memoirs are practically ready to be published in January 2026 if he doesn't receive that increase and an extra one million euros ($1.08 million). In fact, only a new negotiation with Juan Carlos I could stop the publication.
Thanks to these incomes, Iñaki Urdangarin keeps his high standard of living, and Ainhoa Armentia has been able to leave her job. In fact, as of today, neither of them has an official and stable job, although they visit the Vitoria padel club daily.
There, other members have revealed that the coaching project is just a facade. Moreover, they claim that the Royal Family would have suggested this move to justify income and divert attention from the payments.
