Revolution at Buckingham Palace: Now everyone knows what Queen Elizabeth did with Harry

Buckingham Palace has just uncovered one of the best-kept secrets between the Queen and the Duke of Sussex

Buckingham Palace has just seen one of Queen Elizabeth II's biggest secrets come to light. Within the pages of Concha Calleja's book, The Windsor Curse, there is an episode related to the most turbulent moment. This refers to when Prince Harry and Meghan decided to leave the United Kingdom and break ties with the Royal Family.

According to the work of the royalty expert, Charles's mother facilitated that departure by giving her grandson the safe-conduct to be able to return. However, Elizabeth's death left this agreement in limbo and now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex don't have that support.

Buckingham Palace discovers the Royal Family's best-kept secret

Buckingham Palace has become a true source of information related to the British Royal Family. Their encounters and disagreements could fill more than one novel and, in fact, one of them has caused a great stir. The reason? The secret between Queen Elizabeth and Prince Harry that has just come to light.

According to Concha Calleja's novel, The Windsor Curse, there is an unknown episode between grandmother and grandson. One that is related to the so-called "Megxit," due to Harry and Meghan's departure from the United Kingdom and, therefore, from the Royal Family. Calleja claims that what the Queen did with Harry was to facilitate his move to the United States with a safe-conduct for his return.

Elizabeth had a conversation in Windsor with Prince Harry before his departure, showing absolute empathy toward her grandson and Meghan. During that intimate lunch, the sovereign told him that the palace doors would always remain open for them to return whenever they wanted and could reconsider.

The goal then for Buckingham Palace was to protect Markle to prevent tensions from leading to a situation similar to Lady Di's. For this reason, she agreed that the couple should put distance between themselves and the family, with her full approval if they wished to return.

At the time, there was talk of the possibility of negotiating a 12-month extension so the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could come back. "It has been made very clear to them that they can return if they want, whenever they're ready," was published. However, an unexpected event put an end to this safe-conduct: the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Buckingham Palace leaves the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with no options

While all of Buckingham Palace was trying to weather the storm caused by Harry and Meghan, another situation arose to complicate matters. On September 8, 2022, in the midst of disputes between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Royal Family, Queen Elizabeth II passed away.

Her funeral was the last event that would bring the whole family together again and there was already talk of a possible reconciliation. Today, it is known that this was not the case and that with the sovereign's death, the safe-conduct she granted Harry to return was lost.

The situation for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex changed drastically and they were left in limbo. Without the sovereign's approval, the possibility of returning became complicated and family tensions became entrenched.

Sources close to Buckingham Palace state that, before passing away, Elizabeth "made it clear to Harry that she would support any decision he made." However, with her death, that unconditional support vanished, as did the fact that "they would always be welcome."

To this day, the consequences still linger and Harry and Meghan have come to terms with the idea that they won't return to the United Kingdom. The Queen helped them in their departure, but it was impossible for her to facilitate their return. Now everything depends on whether the Royal Family will be able to smooth things over and solve their problems.
