Vodafone implemented a new price increase a few days ago. This time it affects their television packages, especially those that include subscriptions to platforms like Max and Disney+. The company has tried to justify this increase, but many customers are not convinced.
Since this May, new customers who sign up for Vodafone TV will see their bill increase by one more euro per month if they choose any of the most popular packs. These packages combine television channels with access to certain streaming platforms. The affected packs are Seriefans, Serielovers, Familyfans, Familylovers, and the complete Vodafone TV 80 channels package with Max, Disney+, and Prime.
Why are prices rising at Vodafone?
Vodafone has explained that this increase is a direct consequence of the rising costs of streaming platforms. According to the company, Max and Disney+ have raised their rates, and they are simply passing that cost on to the final customer. They insist that they can't absorb it internally and have no margin to avoid this increase.

This is not the first time the operator has changed its prices. For the past two years, the operator has applied an automatic increase every January on all its fiber and mobile rates. Although until now it had not affected their most contracted television packages, the situation has changed.
However, this 1 euro per month increase only affects new customers. Those who already had these services contracted before May keep their monthly fee unchanged. At least, for now.
Some packages are spared
The packages that include other themes, such as Filmin, Sports, Documentaries, Music, Hunting, and Adults, will not experience price changes. However, many users fear that this "truce" is temporary. It already happened with the case of Netflix, when Vodafone also adjusted their prices upwards after changes from this platform.

The telecommunications market in Spain is already accustomed to price increases. Large companies like Vodafone, Movistar, and Orange review their rates at least once a year. Generally, the changes mainly affect fiber optic, mobile, and television services, including sports content.
It can be said that Vodafone follows the same line as other operators. That is, raising prices citing external costs. Although they understand that this may upset customers, they insist that they had no other choice.
