King Emeritus Juan Carlos I once again sets his sights on the sea, and he does so from a very special setting. The monarch has set course for New York to take part in the 6M class Sailing World Cup final.

He won't be alone on this new adventure. His daughter, Infanta Elena, will accompany him, as well as the members of the Bribón crew. Between regattas, cocktails, and themed parties, father and daughter will enjoy days that combine sports, leisure, and exclusivity.

An international sailing event

The sailing competition will begin on Monday, September 22 and will continue until Saturday, the 26th. During those days, the elite of this discipline will gather in New York waters to compete in an event that each year generates great anticipation.

For Juan Carlos I, sailing is much more than a pastime. His passion for regattas has led him to keep a close bond with the Bribón crew, the team with which he continues to compete despite his age. Meanwhile, Infanta Elena has become his usual companion on this type of trip.

The teams are expected to arrive between Tuesday and Wednesday. It will be then that the official reception will take place at the Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club, a private club that is accessible by invitation only. Wednesday will therefore mark the start of the social agenda that accompanies the competition.

The exclusive Oyster Bay neighborhood

King Juan Carlos I will stay in Oyster Bay, an exclusive area in the north of Long Island that is reminiscent of the Hamptons style. This is a residential area where numerous American celebrities have their second homes. This enclave, close to Manhattan but surrounded by nature, offers tranquility, privacy, and all kinds of amenities.

During his stay, the emeritus will enjoy various leisure activities with his daughter and the rest of the Bribón crew. The organization has prepared a welcome cocktail, private receptions, and gatherings in private homes. All of this reinforces the exclusive aura of the event.

On Friday, the official opening of the championship will be held with a formal ceremony. All teams will be welcomed there, and the start of the competition will be marked. For the king emeritus and Infanta Elena, it will be the moment to reunite with friends and sailing companions.

Themed parties and night barbecue

On Saturday, there won't be official regattas, although there will be optional training sessions. The focus will shift to Commodore Hugh Jones's house, where a Bollywood-inspired party will be held with music, cocktails, and shows designed for the sailors and their families.

Among the confirmed attendees are King Juan Carlos, Infanta Elena, and Pedro Campos, the emeritus's right-hand man in the sailing world. The social atmosphere will continue on Sunday with a night barbecue at the Salty Dog, the most relaxed space at the yacht club.

The official closing of the championship is scheduled for Saturday, September 27 with the traditional awards ceremony. It will be the moment to see whether Bribón secures a prominent place in the standings and to see the emeritus and his eldest daughter on the podium. A victory would once again strengthen King Juan Carlos's bond with the sea and his great passion for sailing.
