All the details of Queen Mary's latest secret trip, which she enjoyed without King Frederik, come to light

Queen Mary has once again become the center of attention after details of her latest trip came to light. The Danish monarch made this journey in secret and enjoyed it without the company of her husband, King Frederik.

On a trip that wasn't on her schedule, Queen Mary of Denmark traveled to Nigeria a few days ago to carry out a low-profile diplomatic mission.

The visit, which lasted for two days, took place without the company of her husband, King Frederik. In fact, this time, the monarch was accompanied only by the Minister of Education and Research, Christina Egelund.

However, it wasn't until her return to Denmark that the Danish Royal House's social media confirmed the trip through a series of images. In these, Queen Mary's communications team revealed several details of her itinerary through the cities of Abuja and Lagos.

The main purpose of Queen Mary's latest and secret trip was to strengthen ties between Denmark and Nigeria in the context of the Danish government's Africa Strategy.

During her first day, the monarch was received by Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his wife, Oluremi Tinubu. The meeting took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja and was completed with a roundtable discussion with Danish businesspeople and diplomats.

Meanwhile, King Frederik was participating in a military event in Copenhagen for the anniversary of the Royal Guard, while Queen Mary delivered a speech with significant social impact. Her words were part of the presentation of the global campaign "10 Million Safer Births."

In it, she stated that "no woman should risk her life to give birth." In addition, the monarch also issued an important warning to everyone present there:

"Every two minutes, a woman dies from causes related to pregnancy or childbirth. Every fourteen seconds, a newborn suffers the same fate. These figures are a humanitarian tragedy and require action."

On the other hand, Queen Mary confessed that she has spent nearly twenty years monitoring the "global evolution of maternal mortality." Her personal experience seems to have influenced her public commitment.

During the second day in Nigeria, King Frederik's wife traveled to Lagos, the former capital of Nigeria and the country's economic hub. There, she focused on initiatives linked to youth development, entrepreneurship, and cooperation between companies.

One of the key visits that day was to a creative space made from repurposed containers, where local students and entrepreneurs are trained. This multifunctional environment acts as a laboratory, gallery, and workshop. The choice of location reflects the monarch's interest in sustainable and educational models.

After her return to Denmark, it has been confirmed that Queen Mary agreed to become patron of the "10 Million Safer Births" initiative for three years. The goal is clear: to guarantee safe childbirth conditions for ten million women in sub-Saharan Africa before 2030.

This ambitious project is driven by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Danish organization Maternity Foundation. It also has the support of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The priority is to strengthen maternal health services and train medical personnel in remote regions.
