The Royal Palace is the place Felipe has chosen to meet with the management team of the Contemporary Monarchies Study Network (REMCO).
This meeting represents a clear commitment by the Crown to rigorous analysis of the role of parliamentary monarchies in current democratic systems. While King Felipe chairs the meeting, the queen will not resume her schedule until tomorrow, Tuesday, when she travels to Burela, Lugo. She will make this visit with the king, which will be one of the three joint events they have scheduled during the week.
King Felipe and the Royal Family begin a week full of commitments
The Royal Family are already counting down the days to finally reunite with the heir to the throne after her cruise on Elcano. However, while the days are being counted down, King Felipe and the queen continue with their institutional schedule.
Today, King Felipe and the rest of the members of the Royal Family acknowledge that the time has come to begin a new week. This Monday begins with the first solo event for Felipe at El Pardo. There, he will receive the management team of the Contemporary Monarchies Study Network (REMCO).
REMCO will share with the king their main lines of research, focused on models of institutional representation in European parliamentary regimes. In addition, they will show their latest projects to avoid "prejudices" about their operation.
Felipe will be the only member of the Royal Family in charge of presiding over the welcome at El Pardo. Letizia will not resume her schedule until tomorrow, Tuesday, when she travels to Burela, in Lugo, to participate in the local fishing tradition. This meeting with the Galician community will give visibility to the work of fishermen, a sector essential to the economy, heritage, and regional identity.

The official schedule of the Royal Family
Although King Felipe is the one who begins a week full of events today, the rest of the Royal Family will join him. Tomorrow, Letizia will do so alongside her husband, with whom she will also share the spotlight on Wednesday, June 18. On Friday, the royal couple will head to Bruges, Belgium, to celebrate the closing of the academic year at the College of Europe. The institution is celebrating its 75th anniversary, and the king and queen will be the main figures at the end of the academic cycle. This will be Letizia's last event, but not Felipe's.
On Thursday, the king still has an appointment in Madrid for the "Pavía to Breda" Army Awards. However, Felipe and Letizia are not the only members of the Royal Family with a week full of commitments.
Queen Sofía also has two events scheduled. The first will be this Tuesday, when she closes the academic year at the Reina Sofía School of Music. On Thursday, she will preside over the closing of the II International Congress on ALS research Manolo Barros.
