Movistar reminds that a series of requirements must be met when making a mobile portability

Thousands of people in Spain are thinking about switching phone companies. Many of them choose Movistar, one of the country's most well-known operators. But if you're thinking about porting to Movistar, it's very important that you pay attention to this notice.

If you don't meet certain requirements, the process can be rejected. That means it will be turned down.

Portability is the process by which you can change phone operators without losing your phone number. This applies to both mobile and landlines. It is a right of all telephone service users in Spain, and it has no cost for the customer.

What conditions does Movistar require for portability?

Movistar has issued a very important reminder: for the company change to be carried out correctly, you must meet two key conditions. If you don't meet them, the portability will be rejected.

First, you must not cancel your line with the current company before starting the portability. If you do, the process can't be completed.

Additionally, you must be up to date with payments. That is, you must not have debts or outstanding balances with your previous operator.

They also require that when making the request, the personal data must match exactly with what your current operator has registered. Name, surname, and ID must be the same. If there is any error, the system will not be able to process the portability correctly.

How to port to Movistar?

If you're interested in a Movistar mobile plan, you can request portability at a Movistar store. But also through authorized distributors, or by phone and web. You will only have to submit or accept the portability request, and from that moment the process will begin.

The change is usually made within a maximum of one business day, unless you voluntarily request another date. During the process, you will receive continuous information about the status of the change. The service can only be interrupted for a few hours, between 2:00 and 6:00 in the morning on the day the change is made.

When the portability is completed, you will receive a confirmation SMS. It is essential that, on that day, you have the Movistar SIM card installed in your mobile. From that moment, you will start enjoying your new plan with the Spanish operator.
