The Dutch royal house gives unexpected news about Queen Máxima's jewels

During the gala dinner at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam, Queen Máxima became the center of attention

The Dutch Royal House has revealed an unexpected piece of news related to Queen Máxima. During her latest public appearance, the monarch once again captured all the attention thanks to her well-known and valuable jewelry.

A few days ago, as every year, the wife of King Willem-Alexander was seen at the Seville Fair. A very significant place for her, as it was where they both met 26 years ago.

However, last Monday, May 12, Queen Máxima was seen at another event she never misses: the traditional gala dinner at the Royal Palace of Amsterdam.

This is an event that the monarchs preside over every year and, this time, it once again became one of the settings where Máxima dazzled with her elegance. Nevertheless, her choice of attire and jewelry drew special attention for its symbolism and history.

In a gesture reminiscent of Queen Letizia, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands has chosen to repeat an outfit as a way to promote more conscious and responsible fashion consumption.

For the occasion, the monarch opted for a design by designer Jan Taminiau, which she had already worn on other occasions. However, to give her look a different touch, she decided to pair it with diamond and pearl jewelry.

As Vanitatis points out, it is a garment that is over 15 years old. Nevertheless, despite the years, it has become an emblematic piece of her wardrobe.

It is a dusty pink long-sleeved suit that Queen Máxima of the Netherlands had already worn at the Prinsjesdag celebration in 2010. She also wore it during a state visit to Qatar in 2011.

The ensemble features a crossover neckline and an elaborate decoration of beadwork and sequins on the neckline, in shades of pink, gold, and white. These embellishments continue down the skirt, forming a central star and small flowers, also extending to the cuffs of the sleeves.

If this dress has been the subject of praise in recent days, the jewelry that accompanied the look has caused a real sensation. Queen Máxima wore the historic tiara of Queen Anna, attributed to Grand Duchess Anna Pavlovna of Russia, who married Willem II of the Netherlands.

This tiara is composed of a diamond garland topped with seven large pearls that, according to experts, could date back to the 18th century. In fact, ¡Hola! claims that some of these pearls belong to the year 1646, originating from the legacy of Amalia van Solms, a 17th-century princess.

Before Máxima, other Dutch queens have worn this piece of jewelry, with Juliana being the first to do so. Máxima herself had already worn it at the wedding of Prince Haakon of Norway with Mette-Marit in 2001.

To complete her look, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands chose pear-shaped diamond and pearl drop earrings by Mellerio, and a ring with a central pearl.
