Despite the rumors that have surrounded their marriage over the past few months, Frederik and Queen Mary have made one thing clear: they're happier than ever. The proof of this can be seen in the photos that have been published from their latest public appearances.
It was at the end of May when Nina Munch-Perrin, the monarch's right-hand woman, announced on the program Presselogen "new times" within the Danish Royal House. "A new reality that citizens and, above all, the media must get used to," she added.

Just a few hours after that television appearance, Frederik and Queen Mary were at the center of a massive public celebration for the sovereign's 57th birthday.
That day, the entire royal family, with the only absence being Prince Christian, who was in the army, stepped out onto the iconic balcony of Amalienborg Palace.

At all times, Frederik and Queen Mary appeared very cheerful and with a highly affectionate attitude. So much so that they posed holding each other, looking close, almost cuddly.
A series of gestures that seemed to have a clear intention. Everything suggests that the Danish monarchs wanted to show an image of unity, despite the rumors of separation.
Frederik and Queen Mary completely put an end to the rumors about their alleged marital crisis
Moreover, minutes later, the Crown published dozens of photos from the event on their social media. These snapshots captured the closeness between Frederik and Queen Mary.
They also featured Queen Margrethe, age 85, who had been absent for days after recovering from a severe cold. The publication was a direct blow to the press, which was left out of the coverage.

That day, the media were forced to watch from below as the royal house's Instagram filled with exclusive content. The press quickly questioned this decision.
There's no doubt that the tension between the royal house and the Danish press has reached levels not seen in years. Frederik and Queen Mary have had enough of the criticism and have taken matters into their own hands.
So much so that, from now on, they'll be the ones to control their narrative and exclusively manage their communication channels. This means the Crown itself will decide which images and messages they want to reach the public.
"New monarchs, new times, new media realities that we all have to navigate," the royal house announced in May. They also added that this new era with Frederik and Queen Mary will be approached "differently."
