Princess Leonor has once again become the center of attention. All this comes after the typical Spanish dish that managed to steal her heart during her latest trip around our country has come to light.

Because of their respective responsibilities, the future queen of Spain and her sister, Infanta Sofía, have kept a long-distance relationship for months. So much so that their communication has been limited to video calls and messages, with no chance to enjoy in-person meetings.

For that reason, a few days ago, Felipe and Letizia's younger daughter didn't want to miss the chance to escape to Gijón. There, she was able to reunite with Princess Leonor during the stop of the training ship, Juan Sebastián Elcano, in this Asturian city.

This vessel docked last Thursday, July 3, early in the morning, at the port of Gijón. However, it wasn't until a few hours later that the desired reunion between Infanta Sofía and her older sister took place.

As expected, this emotional moment was accompanied by a gastronomic tour. For the occasion, the sisters chose one of the most iconic venues in the entire city. There, Princess Leonor and her sister were able to enjoy an authentic Asturian experience.

However, despite the delicacies they had the chance to taste, there is a typical dish that managed to steal Leonor's heart. Several media outlets point out that the palate of the future queen of Spain gave in to cachopo.

To enjoy their first meal together after months, Princess Leonor and her sister opted for La Casona de Jovellanos, a hotel that also operates as a cider house and restaurant.

This establishment is located in the heart of Gijón, very close to the beach, specifically in Plazuela de Jovellanos. It is a reference spot for those who want to discover the typical cuisine of the area.

Three women pose together inside a restaurant: one of them is wearing a formal white uniform, another is dressed in a white jersey and dark pants, and the woman in the center is wearing a polka-dot blouse and a pearl necklace; two of them are Infanta Sofía and Princess Leonor.

Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía went there along with a group of 12 midshipmen from the Juan Sebastián de Elcano ship. Together, they enjoyed a typical Asturian meal in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Among the dishes they tasted, one of the region's great classics stood out: cachopos. In fact, according to reports, Princess Leonor and the rest of her companions tried two varieties, one with ham and another with cured beef, accompanied by French fries and salad.

They also completed the meal with several traditional starters, including calamari, baby squid, and scorpionfish pie. Well-poured cider, the true gastronomic emblem of Asturias, was also present.

As has been reported, during the evening, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía shared affectionate gestures and took photos with all the staff of the establishment. The restaurant itself has shown this through their social media.

"With hearts full of emotion, we want to thank Her Royal Highness the Princess of Asturias, Doña Leonor, and Infanta Doña Sofía for the immense honor of their visit to La Casona de Jovellanos."

From that account, they also stated that "it was a privilege to welcome them along with their Navy companions and to share with them a little piece of our home, our history... Of course, our cuisine."
