During her latest public appearance, Charlene of Monaco made a bold move after years of rumors. That day, the sovereign had no qualms about confessing in front of everyone present the reason why she will never separate from Prince Albert of Monaco.
Last Saturday, July 12, Monaco's princes attended the Red Cross gala, which took place within the principality. The event coincided with a special date for the Grimaldi family: the 20th anniversary of the sovereign's accession to the throne.
That day, in addition to dazzling in an elegant blue Elie Saab dress, Charlene of Monaco had the opportunity to deliver a few words, a speech that certainly didn't go unnoticed.
In English, the sovereign took the opportunity to congratulate Prince Albert of Monaco on this very special date for him: "If I speak tonight, it's because it's a very special day. This July 12 marks the 20th anniversary of his accession to the throne."
"Twenty years ago, he took the reins of the Principality and, since then, he has led Monaco with wisdom, courage, and determination. He has driven many changes in Monaco, which sometimes means making difficult but necessary decisions for the future of our country."

However, to understand the weight of the words that Charlene of Monaco dedicated to her husband, one must look back in time. It was at that moment, after their engagement, when a difficult period began, marked by public exposure.
In the days leading up to their wedding, international media echoed speculations about a possible escape by the princess before the wedding. Some even claimed that she tried to leave the Principality and cancel the engagement.
